Tap Dashboard FAQs

The Tap Dashboard gives you complete flexibility, whether you're handling one batch or scaling across multiple locations! This guide outlines everything you need to know about managing your devices with ease.

🚪 How Do I Get Access to the Dashboard?

Your Dashboard will be ready once your Tap devices are encoded or prepared for shipment! 🚚

🖥️ How Do I Update the Link on My Tap Device?

Updating your Tap link is quick and easy! ✨

Legacy Tap Dashboard (https://tapdash.overflow.co/)

  1. Click into a batch from the Tap Dashboard.
  2. Select "Update Tap."
  3. Choose between 2 functionalities:
    • 👉🏽 Link Redirection – Send users to any URL (e.g., giving page, connection card).
    • 💬 SMS Texting – Pre-fill a text message with a keyword and phone number. When tapped, the messaging app opens ready to send.
  4. Select "Update Now" to update your Tap batch immediately.

A Single Link for Every Batch

  • 📢 Tap devices are managed in batches, not individually. When you update the link for a batch, it automatically updates all devices within that batch.
  • 📦 Need different links for different devices? Be sure to create separate batches when placing your order.

📊 Can I Track Who Taps a Tap Device?

This specific metric is not available in your Tap Dashboard. Here's why:

  • 📵 Tap NFC devices do not pull any information from a person’s phone. They simply redirect to the link or SMS message they’re programmed with.
  • 🧭 When someone taps, it opens that destination on their phone. Any data is only collected if the individual takes an action on that page, such as filling out a form or completing a donation.

🛠️ If you’re hoping to track engagement, we recommend using tools like UTM parameters or a form on the landing page to help capture relevant data.

❌ What Happens When a Tap Group is Deleted?

When a Tap Group is deleted, it will show as inactive. Although deleted groups can't be restored to Active, you can easily create a new Tap Group using the same destination link.

🛠 Why isn’t my link saving on the Dashboard?

If your link isn’t saving, try these quick fixes:

  • ✅ Make sure your link starts with “https://”

(For example: https://yoursite.com, not just yoursite.com)

  • ✅ Click the “Save” button and wait for the confirmation

  • 🔄 Try refreshing the page or logging out and back in

Still having trouble? Extensions, ad blockers, or poor network connections can occasionally interfere.

⏱ Can I schedule link updates in advance?

Yes! You can schedule link updates right from the Tap Dashboard — perfect for planning ahead for events, campaigns, or giving moments.

🔄 Returning to the Original (or Another) Link

To switch it back later:

  1. Repeat the steps above
  2. Set the new start time
  3. Enter your next link (this could be the original or a different one)
  4. Confirm
⏳ Note: You can only have one scheduled update per batch at a time — so plan accordingly!

👍 Best Practices for Scheduling

  • Schedule early for planned events
  • Double-check your link and date before confirming
  • Set a reminder to schedule a return link, if needed

🧩 Can I split a batch after production?

Legacy Tap Dashboard (https://tapdash.overflow.co/)

Unfortunately, no. Once production is complete, batches are locked in.

Each Tap device is encoded with its batch during production. This means:

  • You can’t split a batch later

  • You can’t assign different links to devices in the same batch

Planning ahead is key! If you need devices for different use cases, events, or teams — place separate orders to create different batches.
