Capture your Overflow transaction and donor data in your Planning Center Online (PCO) account to see all giving data in one place.
After connecting Overflow's PCO integration, all future contribution and giver information will automatically sync contribution and giver information from your Overflow Dashboard to your PCO account, taking out any manual work of exporting and uploading donation details and allowing you to more effectively engage with individuals giving to your church.

Here's how to get started using the PCO integration:
- Log in to your Overflow Dashboard and navigate to the Settings section. Click the Integrations tab.
- Activate the PCO integration by clicking “Connect” within the Planning Center Online tile.
- This will open a side panel. Click “Connect to PCO”.
-
You'll then be directed to PCO's login page. Enter your PCO account credentials and select "Allow". You will then automatically be redirected to the Overflow Dashboard.
- Important: Make sure that the PCO giving module is turned on and that the person authenticating the integration is a full PCO admin.
-
You will then have the option to choose between a few configurations:
- Two-Way Sync: This sync is ONLY for people data. If you'd like updates made to a person's profile in PCO to reflect in Overflow, you can turn on this option.
- Manual Entry: If you will be manually entering physical cash and check donations in Overflow and would like those donations to appear in PCO, please toggle this option on.
The PCO integration tile should now read "Active". Hooray - you're all set up! 🎉

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
When Contributions Sync
Once a contribution is confirmed within your Overflow Dashboard (which happens immediately for cash and crypto and occurs when you confirm receipt of a stock gift), the donation and donor details will now automatically sync to your PCO account. Cash and credit contributions will be added within the proper transaction category. However, because PCO does not have a way to account for non-cash assets within their system, stock and crypto gifts will be classified under the category Checks.
Fields that Sync
- Contribution Value
- Fund. If a campaign in Overflow exactly matches a fund name in PCO, the donation will be created under that fund. If the campaign name does not already exist in PCO, a new campaign will be created and associated with the contribution.
- Donor's first name, last name, and email address. (A donor's email address will be used to identify whether or not they already exist in PCO. If they do, their donation will match to the existing donor. If they do not, a new donor will be created.)
More About the Two-Way Sync
- Donations WILL NOT sync both ways. Any transaction information will only flow from Overflow to PCO.
- PCO profile updates will not update a donor's profile. So for example, if a donor updates their address in PCO but not in their Overflow Donor Profile, their Overflow Donor Profile will still reflect their old address. The two way sync only sends the data to your Dashboard, not to the Donor Profile. Additionally, if a donor makes a change to their address in their Overflow Donor Profile, that address will overwrite the address in your Overflow Dashboard and in their PCO profile.
FAQs
Can I view subcampaign details of an Overflow gift within PCO?
PCO does not support subcampaigns within the platform, so any subcampaign details that exist on an Overflow contribution will not appear in your PCO account. If you have multiple locations, we recommend setting up your Campaigns as First Location - Tithes, First Location - Legacy, Second Location - Tithes, Second Location - Legacy, etc. You can rename the designation to Fund within Customization Settings.
What are situations in which the sync between Overflow and PCO might fail?
There are two key changes you might make within PCO that will cause errors in syncing contribution and donor information to PCO from Overflow:
- If a fund that existed in Overflow and PCO previously is removed from PCO, this will cause sync issues for any contributions that were already associated with that fund. Please ensure you always have the Overflow Default Fund active within PCO as this will be the catch-all for any contributions that no longer have an associated fund and will allow them to still sync.
- If you merge or split a donor record in PCO and that donor also exists in Overflow, that donor's contribution information will no longer sync to PCO. The reason for this is that merging or splitting donor records changes the donor's ID.
- If you do not have the Giving module turned on within PCO.
- If a donor has an incorrect email address such as @gmai.com without the 'L'.
You can see that a failed sync has happened by clicking into the PCO Integration tile in your Integrations module in the Dashboard. If you see an alert that a failed sync has occurred, please contact the Overflow team by emailing support@overflow.co. We can help identify the problem and re-initiate the sync.
Is there an extra cost associated with this integration?
Nope! The PCO integration is included with your Overflow subscription.
Why do I not see the giving types "Stock" or "Crypto" within my PCO dashboard?
PCO does not allow custom giving types and does not currently support non-cash asset types. Therefore, all stock and crypto donations from Overflow will be classified as checks. In order to understand which gifts were from Overflow, navigate to the "Gifts" section of PCO. Within your dashboard view, you'll see a pie chart that indicates the source of each gift. This will give you an overview of how many total donations came from Overflow. To see individual transactions from Overflow, click "Donations List" within the Giving section and filter transactions by Source = Overflow.
How are anonymous givers handled in PCO?
Anonymous donors will appear as a normal donor within PCO with their full name and email address visible. We recommend that you reference your Overflow Dashboard to know if a donor gave anonymously.
Will updates to a giver or gift in PCO sync to my Overflow Dashboard?
No. Overflow's PCO integration is one-way, meaning data will only move from Overflow to PCO and never the other way around.
Why do batches from Overflow say they are created by an admin in PCO, not Overflow?
Transactions synced through Overflow's integration to PCO will come through as if the authenticating admin created the batch but the source will say Overflow. If you prefer the batches to be labeled as created by Overflow, you will need to create an admin in PCO with the name Overflow App and then authenticate the integration using that profile.
How do I disconnect the PCO integration with Overflow?
Moving to another CRM or no longer want to automatically sync contribution and donor information? You can disconnect the PCO integration by navigating to the Settings section of your Dashboard and clicking "Integrations".
- On the PCO tile in the Integrations tab of your Dashboard settings, Click “See Details”.
- Within the side panel that pops open, click “Disconnect” at the bottom. The application will automatically be disconnected and all data will cease to sync to your PCO account.
