Integrate your Overflow transaction and donor data into Bloomerang to have all giving information in one place and seamlessly manage donor relationships.
Overflow's Bloomerang integration allows contribution and donor information to automatically sync from your Overflow Dashboard to your Bloomerang account, taking out any manual work of exporting and uploading donation details and allowing you to more effectively engage with supporters.
🛠️ Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to get your integration live in minutes:
1. Connect Bloomerang in Your Overflow Dashboard

Log in to your Overflow Dashboard

Go to Settings > Integrations

Locate the Bloomerang tile and click Connect

A side panel will open — click Connect to Bloomerang
2. Get Your Bloomerang API Key

Log in to your Bloomerang account

Click the ⚙️ gear icon > All Settings

In the Organization tile, click Edit

Locate your Public API Key at the bottom left

Copy the key and paste it into the Overflow Dashboard API field, then click Update

🔄 Sync Logic & Mapping Behavior
When Does Data Sync?

Cash & Crypto gifts sync immediately upon confirmation.

Stock gifts sync once you confirm receipt in your Overflow Dashboard.
Fund Mapping
-
Overflow will attempt to match the Campaign Name with an existing Fund in Bloomerang.

If no match exists, a new Fund will be created automatically.

If a gift has no campaign, it will be assigned to your Bloomerang default fund.
Contribution Type Handling

Cash/Credit: Categorized as standard gifts.

Stock/Crypto: Classified as EFT in Bloomerang, with Notes detailing:

“STOCK Donation: Quantity/Ticker”

“CRYPTO Donation: Quantity/Coin”

⚠️ Bloomerang doesn’t natively support non-cash assets. These are tracked as EFT gifts with descriptive notes.
Donor Matching

Overflow searches for an existing constituent by email.

If no match is found, a new donor profile is created with available details.
Anonymous Donors

Donor info will still be synced, but the Note field will read:
“ANONYMOUS TRANSACTION: Donor requested this contribution to remain anonymous.”

❓Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an extra cost for this integration?
No. The Bloomerang integration is included with your Overflow subscription.
How often does data sync?
Syncs happen automatically when a gift is confirmed in Overflow. There is no manual sync option, and post-sync edits in Overflow are not re-synced.
Does data flow from Bloomerang back to Overflow?
No. This is a one-way sync from Overflow → Bloomerang.
Can I view subcampaign data in Bloomerang?
No. Bloomerang does not support subcampaign fields, so those details will not be visible.
What if I need to disconnect the integration?
Go to Settings > Integrations in your Overflow Dashboard:

Click See Details on the Bloomerang tile

Click Disconnect

Confirm the action when prompted
Your API key will be deleted and no further data will sync.
