Migration Tool: Sending "Easy Link" Emails for Recurring Donors

Introducing Overflow's Migration Tool! This resource simplifies the transition of your recurring givers from your previous giving platform to Overflow. In just a few steps, you can ensure that your donors continue their support without interruption.

Accessing the Migration Tool

Once you have logged into your Dashboard, expand the "➕ More" dropdown menu in the left sidebar, and navigate to the "Migration" tool. (https://dashboard.overflow.co/)

How It Works

📤 Upload Recurring Giver Information
Our team will upload your recurring giver data into the Overflow platform.

📧 Send "Easy Link" Emails
Once your data is uploaded, you can easily engage your recurring donors by sending out "Easy Link" emails. These unique links allow donors to quickly access and review their pre-loaded recurring giving information with just one click!

• Bulk Selection: Check the box at the top to select all donors on this page, and click the 📧 to send the "Easy Link" emails.
  
• Single Selection: Click on the vertical ellipsis (⋮) at the end of a donor's listing, and select "Send Magic Link" to send a new link to the donor.
  
  
  

💻 Donor Experience
When donors click on the "Easy Link," their giving details will be automatically populated. They just need to enter their payment information and submit the gift.

Each tab allows you to monitor which donors have successfully made the switch.

• 🔴 Action Required — 
• 🟡 Pending — Potential donors who have received the 'Easy Link' emails, but have not yet taken action.
• 🟢 Completed — Donors who have transitioned their gifts.
  
  

👋🏽 Cancel Old Recurring Gifts
We encourage donors to cancel their old recurring gifts on the previous platform after successfully transitioning to Overflow.

FAQs

What happens if a donor has multiple recurring gifts?

Donors may appear more than once in the Migration Tool if they have multiple recurring gifts. They will receive a unique 'Easy Link' email for each gift, making it easier to set up and manage their contributions.

Can I resend easy links to my recurring givers?

Of course! For security reasons, "Easy Links" expire every 72 hours. We encourage you to resend "Easy Links" to pending donors as soon as they expire. You can continue sending links as needed to encourage donors to make the switch!

How can a donor's status be restored from "completed" to "pending"?

We understand that mistakes can happen! For example, a donor may access their "Easy Link," but exit before fully submitting their information. Please contact our Support team for assistance.

What if a donor sets up a new recurring gift through the donation page?

If a donor decides to set up a recurring gift through your Overflow URL, instead of using their "Easy Link," that’s perfectly fine! However, you will want to take action to ensure they are removed from this mailing list.

Simply locate the donor in the Migration Tool, click on the vertical ellipsis (⋮) at the end their listing, and select "Mark as Redeemed."
