How It Works
The Donor Flows app lets a donor "install" your giving page directly to their device's home screen, so it feels and behaves just like a native app. 📥
Once installed, tapping the icon takes them straight to your organization's giving homepage, with no need to search for your website or dig through bookmarks.
Each install is personalized with your organization's name, so donors will always know exactly which app belongs to you.
How Donors Install It
We've built dynamic, easy-to-follow install instructions right into the giving experience:
- ⬇️ Location: The instructions live in the unified footer, just above the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy links. Donors click Save Overflow for Next Time to expand a collapsible panel, and can close it anytime.
- 📱 Device-Aware Guidance: Instructions automatically adjust based on the donor's device and OS (including macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android), plus a general fallback for unrecognized devices.
- 🌎 Multilingual Support: Available in both English and Spanish.
- 🔖 App or Bookmark: Depending on the donor's browser, they'll be offered a true app-like install or a simple bookmark. This happens automatically based on browser capabilities.

FAQs
How Do We Get This Feature Turned On?
The Donor Flows app is enabled by request. Contact our Support team, and they'll take care of activating it for your organization!
Why Does the App Always Open to the Giving Homepage?
Overflow's giving homepage is the most reliable, central landing spot. Donors can reach any major giving asset or their Donor Profile in 1-click from there.
Can We Use Our Own Logo Instead of the Overflow Icon?
Right now, installs use the standard Overflow icon across all organizations. We're always evaluating future customization options.
Our Organization's Name Is Long. Will It Display Fully?
Some browsers or devices may shorten longer names when showing the app title or icon label. This is determined by the browser, not something we/you can adjust directly.
What if a Donor Doesn't Want the App Anymore?
No problem! They can uninstall it the same way they would any other app on their device. Once removed, your giving page will simply open in their regular browser.
Is This Available for Donors Outside the U.S.?
Yes! Instructions currently support English and Spanish, with device-aware guidance for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android.
